Program Overview
Jefferson College is now enrolling students in its new Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Digital Communication, launching Fall 2025 to meet the growing demand for skilled digital communicators across all industries. The program prepares students for careers in content creation, marketing, media production, public relations, and more.
In addition to the associate degree, a Digital Communication Certificate is available and can be paired with any degree to enhance career opportunities. Both options are approved by the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development and are eligible for financial aid.
Students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Writing for digital media
- Podcasting and video production
- Graphic design and digital art
- Social media and web marketing
- Plus, real-world internships
Degree Information
The Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree is designed for transfer to another college or university as part of a bachelor's degree.
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree is designed for entry-level employment through practical and theoretical courses. Please see individual degree plans listed below for specific degree/certificate requirements.
Academic Plan
The Academic Plan is a semester-by-semester plan for the full-time college-ready student. Part-time students should work with an advisor to customize the map to fit individual needs. Students interested in a specific field of study within communication (advertising, marketing, public relations) should work with their advisor to tailor a plan to their needs.
