BLS Training

Basic Life Support (BLS)

This 1-session in-person course is designed to train healthcare professionals how to perform CPR as well as other lifesaving skills, in a variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Each participant must obtain an 84% or higher on the evaluation and demonstrate proficiency in all CPR skills. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a BLS for Healthcare Provider course completion card valid for 2 years.

Female CNA

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

The in-person CNA Program prepares students to perform basic nursing care skills for residents in long-term care facilities, under the supervision of charge personnel. This 12-week program consists of at least 75 classroom hours of instruction and a minimum of 100 hours of clinical practice under the direct supervision of an instructor. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the State of Missouri knowledge and skills exams to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. The program also offers an optional CNA apprenticeship opportunity.

CMT Training

Certified Medication Technician (CMT)

To qualify: Applicants must be a current Missouri CNA with at least 6 months of verifiable experience.
The in-person CMT training program prepares individuals for employment in intermediate care or skilled nursing facilities. The program teaches students the skills required to administer non-parenteral medications. This 8-week program consists of at least 60 classroom hours of instruction and a minimum of 8 hours of clinical practice under the direct supervision of an instructor. Upon successful completion of the program and testing, students' names will be placed on the Missouri State CMT Registry. Additionally, the Insulin Administration course can be included for an additional fee.

Blood Sugar Test

Insulin Administration

To qualify: Applicants must be registered CMTs or MA-1s to register for this course.
This in-person course covers key aspects of diabetes management, including symptoms, medications, and treatment. Students will also learn insulin administration, infection control, and observation techniques. This 2-session course consists of a 4-hour classroom session, including a written final and a 2-hour clinical with a test, all supervised by an instructor.

Male Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant (MA)

Medical Assistants are responsible for a range of patient care and administrative tasks, including obtaining vital signs, administering medications, providing wound care, assisting with procedures, managing medical records, processing health insurance paperwork, and more. This hybrid course includes 400 hours of online instruction, bi-monthly in-person open labs, and 180 hours of in-person clinical experience, which takes approximately 1 year to complete. 
Upon successful completion, students are prepared to test for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification exams.

phlebotomist

Phlebotomy

Phlebotomists are the essential link between a patient and the diagnostic data needed to save their lives. While their primary task is collecting blood samples, their impact on the healthcare system is much broader. This hybrid program includes 5 weeks of online coursework, a skills meeting with the instructor, and clinical hours at a sponsored clinical site. This program takes less than 6 months to complete (depending on completion of clinical requirements). If you so choose, upon completion of this course, you will be prepared to sit for the Phlebotomy Technician Certification Exam, offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
