Athletic Training
The mission of the Jefferson College Athletic Training Department is to deliver high-quality medical care to student-athletes through prevention, emergency and non-emergency care, rehabilitation, injury and illness management, and education. The department also serves as a vital link between student-athletes and the medical community, ensuring personalized support and the best possible care.

Gregg Crain, Athletic Trainer

Gregg Crain has served as Jefferson Collegeโs full-time certified athletic trainer since 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tennessee Wesleyan College, a Masterโs Degree in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy, and a Graduate Certificate in Sports Management from Missouri Baptist University.
Crain is certified by the National Athletic Trainersโ Association and licensed by the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. He is also an American Red Cross instructor, certified to teach Adult/Child and Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid. In addition to his role as athletic trainer, he serves as an adjunct instructor in the Health and Physical Education department.
Before joining Jefferson College, Crain worked for a St. Louis-based healthcare facility, providing athletic training coverage for local high schools. He brings a wide range of experience across professional, collegiate, industrial, and secondary school athletic settings.

The Jefferson College Athletic department staff would like to welcome you to our athletic program; we are glad you have chosen to be a part of Jefferson College.
Prior to participating on an athletic team for Jefferson College, athletes must provide the Athletic Department with current address, emergency contact, insurance, medical alert and health history information. To expedite this process Jefferson College uses an online data entry system to keep your electronic medical records (EMRโs) and personal health records (PHRโs). To enter your information, click on the SportsWare link below and follow the instructions.
Physical
All incoming freshman and returning/transfer student-athletes must have a current physical examination prior to practice, competition, and participation. The physical examination can be administered by any physician, chiropractor, nurse practitioner, or DO. The physical is valid for 13 months from the date issued. Each student-athlete must upload the physical to SportsWare and it must stay current throughout the academic year.
