Foundations Lab

Foundations Lab Services offers comprehensive academic support to help students succeed. Services include preparation for Math and Reading placement testing, as well as targeted support for students preparing for the Pre-Nursing ATI TEAS exam. The lab also provides ongoing academic assistance in Reading, Writing, and Math courses, with additional support available for students with accommodations.

To be eligible for Foundations Lab services, students must either be enrolled at Jefferson College or participating in the college’s AEL (Adult Education and Literacy) program.

Math Skills Topics include:

  • Arithmetic: Questions will focus on computation, order of operations, estimation and rounding, comparing and ordering values in different formats, and recognizing equivalent values across formats. Some questions may present a real-world context that you will need to analyze and solve.
  • Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Functions: Questions will focus on applying ratios and proportional reasoning, creating linear expressions and equations, understanding probability, and interpreting graphical displays. Some questions may present a real-world context that you will need to analyze and solve.
  • Advanced Algebra and Functions: Questions will focus on equations and functions, including linear, quadratic, rational, radical, polynomial, and exponential. Some questions will focus on advanced geometry and trigonometry. In addition, some questions may present a real-world context that you will need to analyze and solve.
