William Woods Partnership
To address the goal of affordability, JC and WWU began by negotiating tuition discounts. Jefferson College graduates, employees, alumni, and family members receive a 20% tuition discount for courses through William Woods University Global (Online). Graduates are also eligible for generous scholarships for traditional courses at WWU's campus in Fulton, Missouri. Employees, spouses, and dependents are eligible for a 60% tuition discount for on campus courses.
Work then began to develop 2+2 articulation agreements. Suzie Welch, Associate Professor of Sociology and Social Work at Jefferson College, collaborated with Dr. Stephen Cooper, Professor of Social Work at William Woods University, to develop a seamless pathway for students pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Under the Social Work articulation agreement, students complete 63 credit hours in two years at Jefferson College and 57 credit hours in two years at William Woods University.
In recognition of this completed articulation agreement and fully realized partnership, Jefferson College hosted William Woods University for an articulation signing ceremony on April 2, 2024. In addition to the Social Work articulation, the institutions approved additional 2+2 articulation agreements. Jefferson College students who complete the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Business Management can now transfer those credits directly toward William Woods University's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Management; and those who complete the AAS in Computer Information Systems can transfer their credits toward the BAS in Computer Information Systems.
Vice President of Academic Affairs & CAO, Chris DeGeare stated, "Jefferson College is grateful for this partnership with William Woods University. This collaboration provides more opportunities for our graduates to continue their education in a way that is affordable and accessible."
