Course Description: Prerequisites: PNE141, 144, with grades of B or better, successful completion of PNE142, and reading proficiency Pharmacology I is the first of two (2) courses presenting basic principles of pharmacodynamics in association with the administration of commonly
prescribed drugs. Major drug classifications are introduced as well as the purpose, complications, precautions, interactions, nursing administration, and client education. Concepts covered include foundations in pharmacology, antiinfectives and antibiotics, pain management, and cancer, respiratory, cardiovascular, hematopoietic, and immune disorders. (F, S)

Bio: Mrs. Record graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) in 1995. The majority of her career has been in Perioperative Nursing. She also has experience in ENT, OB clinic, missions, and Urgent Care settings. In 2015, Mrs. Record joined Jefferson College as an adjunct clinical instructor. Since then, she has moved into the Simulation lab and didactic instruction in the classroom, accepting a full-time faculty role in 2021. Mrs. Record is passionate about sharing her nursing knowledge with nursing students.
