Jefferson College Research Experiences for Undergraduates

The Jefferson College Research Experiences for Undergraduates Club (JCREU) is focused on creating opportunities for students to explore research, innovation, and advanced manufacturing within the broad fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The “REU” in JCREU stands for Research Experiences for Undergraduates, a program acronym used by the National Science Foundation (NSF). As Jefferson College actively pursues NSF grants, the club will help students learn about research opportunities available both at Jefferson College and at other colleges and universities. Members will have opportunities to connect with summer research programs and other experiences that can expand their academic and professional skills.

JCREU also features an advanced manufacturing component. Students from participating programs will have the opportunity to form teams and compete in national advanced manufacturing competitions, including Project MFG and America’s Cutting Edge (ACE). These competitions provide hands-on experience with modern manufacturing technologies, problem-solving, teamwork, and industry-relevant skills.
