Jefferson College Honors Former Presidents with Building Dedication Ceremonies

Jefferson College has recently honored the lasting legacies of two former presidents with public building dedication ceremonies in August 2026.

On Wednesday, August 5, the College officially dedicated the former Arts & Sciences II building as Charles McClain Hall, honoring Dr. Charles McClain, Jefferson College's first president (1963–1970). During his tenure, Dr. McClain guided the College through its formative years and oversaw construction of many of the campus's original buildings, laying the foundation for future growth.

On Thursday, August 20, the College officially dedicated the former Technology Center as B. Ray Henry Hall in honor of Dr. B. Ray Henry, Jefferson College's second and longest-serving president (1970–1989). Under his leadership, the College experienced significant expansion, including the construction of the Technology Center, Area Technical School, Early Childhood Center, and numerous additions to existing campus facilities.

Community members, alumni, former employees, and friends of the College are invited to join in celebrating two visionary leaders whose dedication continues to shape Jefferson College today.
