Jefferson College Launches Accelerated Manufacturing Course Offering Direct Pathway for Workers to Gain Valuable Skills
As modern industry shifts toward automation and advanced technology, Jefferson College is providing a direct pathway for workers to level up their credentials. The college’s Workforce & Employment Services office is currently forming classes for a credential in Manufacturing Processes, an intensive eight-week program designed to equip students with the "stackable" certifications local employers prioritize.
The course, which begins in February with additional future classes forming, focuses on the journey of a product from initial design to finished output. Beyond technical mechanics, the curriculum emphasizes the "how" of modern industry: workflow documentation, quality control, and the lean thinking strategies used to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
A Fast Track to Industry-Recognized Certification
A standout feature of the program is its alignment with the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC). The course is specifically engineered to prepare students to sit for the Manufacturing Processes and Production credential module.
“This isn't just a classroom theory course,” said Lora Warner, Director of Workforce and Employment Services. “It’s about recognizing mastery of core production competencies, from entry-level skills to front-line supervisor readiness.”
