Program Overview
Jefferson College's Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technology training program prepares students for careers in the rapidly growing and increasingly technical field of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). This comprehensive training equips students with the critical skills required to excel in this industry.
The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technology program is accredited by HVAC Excellence, validating that the program meets or exceeds industry standards. This accreditation assures prospective students and employers of the program's quality and efficacy in preparing a skilled workforce for the HVAC industry.
Students are required to purchase a toolkit through the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technology Department for approximately $475.
Spire Launches Cooperative Education Program with Jefferson College
Spire and Jefferson College have teamed up to help prepare students for careers in the natural gas industry. Jefferson College students can apply for the Spire Cooperative Education Program at Jefferson College – a two-year educational, hands-on experience that prepares participants to become highly skilled technicians in the natural gas field, while they complete a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) associate’s degree.
To qualify for the program, students must have a 2.5 GPA and complete an interview process with Spire.

Degree Information
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree is designed for entry-level employment through practical and theoretical courses. A certificate option is also available.
Academic Plan
The Academic Plan is a semester-by-semester plan for the full-time student. Part-time students should work with an advisor to customize the map to fit individual needs.
