    Bio: Originally a native of the rolling farmland of southeastern Wisconsin, Christina is a St. Louis based horn player and educator. She received a Master`s Degree from New England Conservatory in Boston as a student of Richard Sebring and studied with Melanie Cottle at Wheaton College in the Chicagoland area as an undergraduate. Christina is an active freelancer and has played with Winter Opera St. Louis, the Illinois Symphony, the Heartland Festival Orchestra, and the New World Symphony. Christina currently works as the director of music programs at Intersect Arts Center, a nonprofit organization that provides arts engagement opportunities for youth, adults, and families in the Gravois Park neighborhood. Aside from her pursuits in music, Christina enjoys various activities including backpacking, foraging, and reading poetry.

    Bio: Mrs. Schneider began her nursing career at the age of 18 as a certified nurse assistant. She then returned to school as a non-traditional student and is a 2009 Jefferson College nursing alumna. She obtained both her BSN and MSN from Central Methodist University. Her nursing background includes medical/surgical nursing, critical care (stepdown unit), vascular access team, and infection prevention and control. She loves learning and sharing her knowledge with others and plans to obtain her certification as a healthcare simulation educator. Mrs. Schneider joined the Jefferson College Bi-Level Nursing team in 2016 as the Clinical Coordinator and accepted the position of Assistant Director in 2020.

  • Dustin Shrum

    Bio: Dustin Shrum is a versatile trumpet player in the St. Louis and Kansas City area. Dustin is currently the Director of Bands at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in the St. Louis Public Schools District. He is also the Director of Jazz Studies and McKendree University in Lebanon, IL.

    Dustin holds Bachelor`s degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

    Dustin has performed with various groups such as the Funky Butt Brass Band, the Jazz St. Louis Big Band, the Jim Widner Big Band, Master Blaster featuring Steve Ewing, and El Monstero.

    Dustin is comfortable performing in multiple environments including Big Band Lead Trumpet/Trumpet Section, Brass Quintet, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Combo, and Pit Orchestra.

    He has performed with notable musicians such as Marilyn Maye, Byron Stripling, Denise Thimes, The Temptations, and Terrell Stafford. His mentors include: Roger Ingram, Joshua MacCluer, Stan Kessler, Allen Beeson, Dan Thomas, Lisa Blackmore, and Mark Hyams.

    Bio: Mr. Sikes earned a Bachelor`s of Music Education degree in 1999 from University of MO-St. Louis. While at UM-St. Louis, he participated in numerous ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Ensemble, the Pep Band (also served as arranger), Percussion Ensemble and the AFRO-Cuban Ensemble. Ron has been influenced by some of the finest educators, including Mark Trautwein, Brad Madson, Dr. Claude Baker, Dr. William Richardson, Marvin Sparks, Jeff Hamilton, and Dennis Reis. In 2008, Ron Sikes completed is Masters in Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University. Sikes` professional affiliations include the Missouri Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu, Music Educators National Conference, Missouri Music Educators Association, Missouri State Teachers Association, and Percussive Art Society. Sikes was given the "Blue Jay" award for his years of service and dedication to the Jefferson R-VII District. Sikes remains active as performer, teacher, and clinician throughout the area.

    Bio: Marialana Speidel earned both a B.S. and M.S. in biology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In addition, she has an M.S. in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Missouri Baptist University. Her background includes extensive laboratory work in pharmaceutical, food, aerosol, and waste water treatment industries. Ms. Speidel has done additional research work with cyanobacteria under the direction of Dr. Teresa Thiel at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Ms. Speidel enjoys working and living on a farm with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include astronomy and outdoor activities. Ms. Speidel is an advocate for individuals with disabilities and promotes inclusion in the classroom and community.

    Bio: Christy is a graduate of Missouri Baptist University with a Masters in Business Administration. An instructor at Jefferson College since January of 2010, Christy currently teaches Business Communication, Business Math, and Financial Management on line. Christy manages the College Bookstore on the Jefferson College campus and brings a unique mix of business experience and an understanding of what is needed to be successful in the business environment to her courses.

    Bio: Having finished her Master`s degree program in Sports Management at Missouri Baptist University in the fall of 2007, Aida Steiger teaches in the Health and Physical Education Department and serves as Head Volleyball Coach at Jefferson College. As a player at Jefferson College and St. Louis University, she received numerous awards and accolades while breaking several records. She tied the record for most kills in NCAA history and was ranked second nationally in kills while at Jefferson College. During her athletic career at St. Louis University, Aida was the program`s first AVCA All-American, First Team All-District, and First Team All-Conference USA. She was the first person in any sport to be named C-USA Player of the Week four times in the same season. Aida hold NJCAA, NCAA, and AVCA All-American rankings. Her other awards include MCCAC All-Conference, Region 16 All-Region Team, Who`s Who Among Students at American Junior Colleges, Conference USA All-Conference, St. Louis University MVP 2004-05, Fairfield Invitational MVP, Billiken All-Tournament Team, and AVCA All-Region Team.

    Bio: Jo Ellen Stringer earned her A.A. degree at Jefferson College and her B.S. and M.A.T. degrees from Southeast Missouri State University. She has completed additional course work at Southeast Missouri State University. Ms. Stringer has more collegiate career victories than any other women`s division volleyball coach. Ms. Stringer`s Vikings have appeared at the national championships 21 times. She reached the 1,000th victory mark in September of 2000. Ms. Stringer was also one of the five original inductees into the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches` Hall of Fame.

    Bio: Jane Sullivan received an Associate of Arts Degree from Jefferson College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and English from Fontbonne University, and a Master of Arts Degree from Essex University in Colchester, England. As a faculty member at Jefferson College for over 20 years, Ms. Sullivan has taught Oral Communication, Public Speaking, Beginning Acting and Theater Appreciation. She is a founding member of the Honors Program and teaches two Honors classes, Oral Communication and Theater Appreciation. She also developed WebCT versions of Oral Communication and Theater Appreciation.

    Ms. Sullivan is the 1995 recipient of the Governor`s Award for Excellence in Education, the Linda Johnston Excellence in Assessment Award in 1999-2000, and the Missouri Community College Award for Innovation in Teaching in 2001. She has acted in and directed numerous productions at Jefferson College and other theaters.
