Law Enforcement Academy  Awarded CALEA Accreditation for Second Time

The Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy (JCLEA) was recently awarded their second consecutive CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) Training Academy Accreditation. The reaccreditation remains in effect for four years.

National accreditation was achieved by the JCLEA through a highly regarded and broadly recognized body of professional standards representing the culmination of a self-evaluation and subsequent review from CALEA commissioners.

The Jefferson College Foundation and presenting sponsor Home Service Oil Company invite golfers and businesses to support local higher education by participating in the 33rd annual Viking Classic Golf Tournament at Oak Valley Golf Course in Pevely, MO. The tournament will be on Monday, September 14, and will start with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Project SUCCESS Program Grant Renewed for 5 Years

Congratulations to the Jefferson College Project SUCCESS Student Support Services/TRIO program which has again been funded by the U.S. Department of Education for five years (2020-2025) in the full amount of $1,530,180.

The TRIO programs were created in the 1960s by the Lyndon Baines Johnson administration as part of the War on Poverty (higher education being a fine way to pull oneself out of the poverty cycle). Jefferson College was awarded its first SSS grant in 1997 and has been successfully renewed in each grant competition since.

PTK Honor Society Chapter Welcomes New Members

The Jefferson College Xi Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa international honor society recently welcomed 83 new members who met the qualifications for membership. To be considered for admission, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

LEA Graduates Earn 100% POST License Pass Rate

A class of 15 cadets recently graduated from the Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy in Imperial (032 Peace Officer Standards and Training POST Class), helping to fill the ongoing need for qualified officers in Missouri.

After completing a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum filled with numerous tactical exercises using the latest instructional technology, the 032 class achieved a 100 percent completion pass rate on the POST license exam, continuing the lengthy streak of graduating classes from Jefferson College with a 100 percent total pass rate for the POST Class A license.
