Jefferson College 58th Annual Commencement Exercises May 20

Jefferson College will hold its 58th annual commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Field House on the Hillsboro campus.
Nearly 700 students are eligible to receive associate degrees or career and technical education certificates as the class of 2023. During the ceremony, 617 associate degrees and 88 career and technical certificates will be awarded. This year’s oldest graduate is 62 and youngest is 17.
To maintain a safe environment for all graduates and attendees, the College will provide hygiene stations with hand sanitizer and sanitization of Field House surfaces between ceremonies.
Dean’s List Announced for Fall 2022

Jefferson College Vice President of Student Services, Kimberly Harvey-Manus, has announced the Dean’s List for the Fall 2022 semester, containing the names of 709 students who earned the academic recognition.
To qualify for the Dean’s List honor, full-time students must achieve a grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in at least 12 graded credit hours taken that semester. Part-time students who accumulate 12 or more graded credit hours with a 3.25 grade point average also qualify and must contact the Vice President of Student Services Office within ten days of grade reporting to be included.

Board of Trustees 2023 Meeting Dates

The Jefferson College Board of Trustees regularly meets in public session on the second Thursday of each month in the Administration Building Board Room on the Hillsboro campus.
Trustees include Steve Meinberg, President; Krystal Hargis, Vice President; Ron Scaggs; Gary Davis; Margie Passmore; and Retta "Susan" Tuggle.
English Professor Receives Statewide Award for Excellence

Jefferson College English Associate Professor Lisa Ebert was recently honored by the Missouri Community College Association with the Excellence in Teaching Award. Nominees are submitted from every community college across the state and presented to two outstanding instructors for work done during the previous year.
Mercy Hospital Jefferson Receives Award from MCCA

Jefferson College and the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) recently honored Mercy Hospital Jefferson (MHJ) for outstanding support of Missouri community colleges. The hospital received the 2022 Distinguished Business/Industry Award at the statewide MCCA convention.
The prominent award is given annually to businesses that go above and beyond to show their support for Missouri community colleges and the progression of higher education.
