Course Description: Prerequisites: Admission into the Jefferson College RN Program and reading proficiency.

Adult Health Nursing I is the first of two courses designed for students to build upon their basic knowledge of medical-surgical nursing and to develop their clinical reasoning skills as a professional nurse. Nursing concepts of sensory disorders, peri-operative care, integumentary management, fluid balance, endocrine disorders, cardiac disorders, and respiratory disorders will be explored. (F, S)

Bio: Mrs. Pellmann began her nursing career at the age of 20 as a patient care technician at St. Louis Children`s hospital while obtaining her BSN. She obtained her BSN at GSON in 2016 and MSN from WGU in 2022. Her nursing background includes pediatrics, oncology, nursing education, case management, home health, and labor & delivery. She started her career in nursing education at BECK School of Practical Nursing, she also taught at Applied Tech, and then accepted a full-time position with the Jefferson College Bi-Level Nursing team in 2022. She loves learning, sharing her knowledge with others, and plans to obtain her certification as a certified nurse educator. Mrs. Pellmann is excited to watch her students grow into future nurses and become leaders in the healthcare system.
