Lyric Diction II: French and German will develop proficiency in lyric diction for the aspiring singer or music educator. The course will explore phonetics, enunciation, and transcription of French and German as applied to lyric diction. Focus will be on the basics of the International Phonetic Alphabet with particular emphasis on practical application through critical listening and performance. (S)

Bio: Brittany Moleski, soprano, is currently on faculty at Jefferson College and Southeast Missouri State University. She earned her Master of Music in Vocal Performance degree from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and her Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance degrees from Southeast Missouri State University. She has performed with the Southern Illinois Music Festival, the New York Lyric Opera Theatre, the Boston Pops, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Chamber Chorus, and Union Avenue Opera. Some of her operatic roles include the title role in Cendrillon, Marenka in The Bartered Bride, Serafina in Il campanello di notte, the First Lady and First Spirit in The Magic Flute, and Emmie in Albert Herring. She has also been featured as the soprano soloist in Schubert`s Mass in G, Vivaldi`s Gloria, and Fauré`s Requiem, among other concert works.
