Course Description: Prerequisites: Admission to the Law Enforcement Academy and reading proficiency
Patrol Operations and Tactics studies the foundations of police operations, providing patrol coverage and calls-for-service, the principle of conspicuous presence as a means of crime prevention and preservation of the peace. Included is an understanding of basic police responsibilities and liabilities. The student participates in mock calls-for-service, crime scene investigations, and defense tactics training. This course uses the current Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) curriculum and objectives. (D)
