Course Description: Prerequisite: ACCUPLACER ESL language use score of 100 or higher, and ACCUPLACER listening score of 96 or higher, and ACCUPLACER reading skills score of 102 or higher; COMPASS ESL grammar/usage score of 94-99 within the past two years, reading score of 92-99 within the past two years, and listening score of 92-99 within the past two years; 500 TOEFL (computer 173) score within the past two years; or ENG033 with a grade of "C" or better
English as a Second Language IV (ESL) is an advanced ESL class designed to prepare the non-native speaker of English to enter ENG101. Students will study the writing process and rhetorical types, with emphasis on grammar, organization, and composition skills. This course is not applicable toward the associate degree. (D)
