Basketball Coaching Staff
Entering her fourth season at Jefferson College in 2020-21, Ashley McGee has built the Vikings into a competitive program and an academic success.
Coach McGee took the 6-0 program over in 2017. Since then she has gained more success every year with her last year being the best, more than doubling her wins.
The Vikings put together their most successful season during the 2019-20 campaign. McGee improved the team’s record to 14-16, notably for number of games won, number of regional wins at home and away in almost 10 years. In addition, the Lady Vikings made it to the second round of the Region 16 tournament.
Coach McGee effectively led 1 All-American, 4 MCCAC and NJCAA athletes to success, sending all 5 starters to the next level; DI and DII in the 2019-2020 season.
In addition to coaching, McGee prides herself in academics and her team successfully made the NJCAA Academic Team both semesters during the 2019-2020 season; coaching 5 All-Academic Athletes, combining more than 12 All-Academic Athletes in the past 3 years and graduating over half.
Coach West is from St. Louis, MO. and graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. West has been involved with basketball for about 20 years, playing at almost every level, including being the first female practice player at a MAJOR D1 school.
West has coached with the St. Louis Eagles, now the Bradley Beal Elite organization for a couple years, and at a few middle schools in the area.
