Accounting Degree Information
Jefferson College offers multiple accounting options: the Associate of Arts, Associate of Applied Science, and the CTE Certificate. Students pursuing a career in Accounting should consider their specific educational and career goals when choosing which degree to pursue.
If you plan to complete a bachelor's degree or higher, consider the Associate of Arts degree from Jefferson College. This program of study provides the fundamentals required by four-year Accounting programs. The course work is intended to transfer into university programs easily.
The Associate of Applied Science degree is a two-year degree that provides the technical knowledge needed to go to work. While many of the courses within this program of study transfer to university programs, we highly advise you to check with your intended transfer institution to verify transferability.
If you desire entry-level Accounting skills, the CTE Certificate may be of interest. Courses focus on the technical skills required for bookkeepers and can be completed in as little as two semesters.
