Student Testimonials

Dear Missouri Community College Association:

I am writing to thank you for your extremely generous MCCA 2015 Scholarship for $500. I was happy and deeply appreciative to learn that I had been selected to receive your scholarship. I am attending Jefferson College in the Radiologic Technology  program, as a full time student. By the time I graduate, which is to be in the spring of 2017, I will be prepared to step into the world as a Radiologic Technologist. The financial assistance you have provided will be of great help in paying for my continues education, getting me closer to my goal and allowing me to concentrate on studying for my future career.

By awarding me this scholarship, you have reduced my financial burden, allowing me to focus on learning. Your generosity has made it possible for me to help others by being an excellent Radiologic Technologist and providing care for ill and injured people. Thank you again for your generosity.

Sincerely,
Kayla R.

Dear Mr. Rick Batts:

I am writing you to express my dearest appreciation regarding the scholarship that you and your company have awarded me. Being a stay at home mother for the past 12 years and now deciding to go back to school to further my education, and be able to get a career that I am truly passionate about is a blessing. And to be lucky enough to receive a helping hand is greatly appreciated. Thank you from my family and I for giving us this added gift.

Sincerely,
Amanda H.

Dear Jefferson County Democratic Club Scholarship:

I was very happy to learn that I was the recipient of the Jefferson County Democratic Club Scholarship. I am writing to thank you for the generous, financial support towards my higher education.

Jeffco DCC

I currently have not decided my major, but am greatly leaning toward being a music major. I am currently a sophomore and plan to graduate in the fall of 2017. After graduation, I will be moving to Tennessee in order to pursue a career in songwriting.

By awarding me the Jefferson County Democratic Club Scholarship, I am able to concentrate on what is important for me, education. Your financial generosity has allowed me to be one step closer to my goal. I hope one day I will be able to help other student achieve their goal just as you have helped me.

Sincerely,
Sarah A.

Dear Mr. Siebert,

Thank you very much for helping me achieve my goal of becoming a nurse. Your generous gift of $500 toward my tuition is truly appreciated. I will be starting this fall in the Nursing Program at Jefferson College. I am very excited and look forward to being a full time nursing student. I am a older student, and five years ago when I was 45 years old I went back to school at Jefferson College. I set a goal for myself to be a registered nurse by the time I was 50 years old. I am getting there with the help from you, my family, and the awesome staff and teacher at Jefferson College.

Thank you again!

Sincerely,
Mariya F.

Dear Mr. Dewoskin:

Hello, my name is Willie, and I'm writing this letter to you to show my appreciation for the scholarship for the 2015-2016 academic year. I am truly honored to even be considered for the scholarship. My wife and I live paycheck to paycheck and it's sometimes is a challenge to just pay for everyday essential and put gas in the car. This is such a blessing to me and my family so I can continue to further my education, and maybe one day we won't have to just barely scrape by. Again thank-you so much for lending a helping hand in furthering my education. God bless you!

Sincerely,
Willie G.

Dear Ms. Henson:

I would like to express my gratitude for your generosity in granting me the Twin City Optimist Scholarship for the 2016-2017 School Year. I am very honored to be a recipient for this award.

I am currently a pre-nursing student at Jefferson College, and plan on starting the nursing program in January or 2017. I decided to follow my dream of becoming a nurse after my son was born earlier this year. I want to set an example for him to follow your dreams no matter what. Having a family and going to school can be financially straining, but this scholarship will go a long way in relieving the financial burden classes and supplies can make, so I can focus on my education. Receiving this award motivates me even more toward my ultimate goal of being a nurse and helping others. Thank you for your confidence in me and helping me achieve my goals.

Sincerely,
Jeanine U.

Dear Rotary Club,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the generous scholarship you have awarded on my behalf. It is because of organizations like yourself that individuals have the opportunity to realize their dreams of continuing their education. I find it a privilege that you choose me for this scholarship. I am looking forward to this upcoming year to work hard to accomplish my goal of starting the nursing program at Jefferson College. Again thank you for your generosity.

Sincerely Yours,
Sarah W.

To Whom it may concern:

I sit here wondering what to say. I first thought a typed paper would be more professional, yet not sincere. I am about to turn 43 this month, am a father of 3, and still humbled by the help others are willing to give. I cannot express in words how much this scholarship for my books has helped this semester. I can say without it this semester would have started so much harder than necessary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am trying to become independent, and get off disability by educating myself. I want to provide a better life for my family. I know this isn't accomplishing that, but every step to me, is a leap. At my age continuing my education was a very scary step. Thanks to the staff, organizations such as this, and people I know. My dreams are possible to obtain. Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Craig F.

Dear Jefferson College Foundation,

I want all involved to know how much I appreciate the financial assistance for purchasing my course book. I have been working very hard to complete my degree to become a Special Education Teacher. I am a newly single mom of three prefect kids; Elijah 12, Carolyne 9, and Charleigh 2.  They keep me busy, but always put a smile on my face. Their father works out of town, so it is hard for me to substitute teach as much as I would like to with going to school full time and taking care the kids on my own, but I would not have it any other way.

My goal is to graduate with my teaching degree when my youngest daughter starts kindergarten. I want to be able to take care of my children and myself financially and then to start to put some money back for their college. I wish I would have earned this specific degree many years ago, I guess it is never to early to start.

Thank you so much for helping to purchase my books this semester.

Sincerely,
Amanda R.
