The Jefferson College PACE (Performing Arts and Cultural Enrichment) event series will continue with a Fall Back Into Jazz concert on Sunday, November 6, at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the Hillsboro campus. Admission and parking is free.
The concert, featuring the Jefferson College Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos, will include the music of Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Radiohead, Paquito D’Rivera, Charlie Parker, and others, and will be will be directed by Dr. Joel Vanderheyden and Cody Henry.
As a public service to area residents, Jefferson College will host a free workshop regarding computer safety and anti-virus protection as it relates to online information.
Organized in connection with a service learning project for students in the College’s Computer Information Systems and Business Management programs, the workshop will be held on Thursday, November 3, at 4 p.m. in Room 323 at Jefferson College Arnold, 1687 Missouri State Road. Pre-registration is not required.
In order to provide wholesome and safe activities for area kids, Jefferson College will host its annual Shocktober Halloween Party on Friday, October 28, in the Field House on the Hillsboro campus.
The event will include sensory sensitive activities from 5:30-6 p.m. for children that may be overwhelmed by excessive lights and sounds. Traditional Shocktober activities will last from 6-8:30 p.m.
The Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy (JCLEA) has been granted accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Public Safety Training Academies, a division of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA).
Jefferson College’s Health Information Management (HIT) program has achieved national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
