Registration has begun for spring and summer college-credit classes at Jefferson College with a variety of associate degree programs and technical certificate options available.
In addition to a full schedule of JC Online courses, on-site classes are available at three locations throughout Jefferson County including Hillsboro – 1000 Viking Drive, Arnold – 1687 Missouri State Road, and Imperial – 4400 Jeffco Blvd. Students may visit any location to receive enrollment information.
Jefferson College was the place to be as over 1,000 family members, friends and supporters of all ages attended a welcome home ceremony for the Missouri National Guard’s 220th Engineer Company on December 6 in the Field House on the Hillsboro campus.
Jefferson College Area Technical School Metal Fabrication student Ashli Bailey of Hillsboro is one of only three students from across the country to win the “A Cut Above” individual/essay contest sponsored by Victor Technologies International, Inc., a welding and cutting equipment company headquartered in St. Louis.
Aside from an individual cash award of $250 to Bailey, the Area Technical School Metal Fabrication program will receive a cutting and welding equipment package worth approximately $4,000.
As part of Jefferson College’s continued emphasis on health-related education, the Jefferson College Foundation recently received a $153,500 grant on behalf of the college from the Jefferson Memorial Community Foundation to create a campus holistic wellness program.
It will provide funding to address the growing wellness needs of the college through the creation of a comprehensive initiative that will give personalized access to services in order to address the multiple challenges faced by students and employees.
As part of an ongoing commitment to health care and public well-being initiatives, Jefferson College and Mercy recently opened the new Mercy on Campus Health Clinic at Jefferson College.
Mercy on Campus is the area’s first community college health clinic and fits with Jefferson College’s emphasis on health occupations training programs and wellness. The clinic is open to community members, students, and college employees/dependents for sick visits, personal wellness, chronic disease management, vaccinations, stress management, and other health programs.
