Community Users @ Jefferson College Library Print

Welcome! Jefferson College Library is here to provide you with information, services and materials. Our friendly, qualified staff will do our best to help you find information and answer your questions. Our collection supports the research needs of students at the community college level. We recommend that you browse the collection to see if it meets your needs. For example, we do not purchase all of the bestsellers or books on hobbies that one might expect to find in a public library. Advanced research needs beyond the first two years of college may not be met.

Borrowing Privileges

Jefferson County residents age 18 and older may obtain a library card for a fee of $15.00 per year and the card is non-transferable. A valid photo ID and proof of residence within Jefferson County is required. Residents age 65 and older qualify for a free card. Community cardholders are limited to checking out 20 items at one time. The Library reserves the right to limit the number of items that may be checked out by community card holders so that sufficient resources are available for Jefferson College students. There is a minimum, non-refundable $5.00 processing fee plus actual shipping costs per request for interlibrary loans. The Library reserves the right to limit the number of interlibrary loan items patrons may request.

Library Computer Access

Members of the community are welcome to use the computers in the libraries at Hillsboro and Arnold.  However, Jefferson College students, faculty, and staff have priority in the use of computers.  Patrons may be asked to come back at a less busy time (possibly afternoon or evening) or give up their computer for student use. All computer users must comply with the Jefferson College Academic Computer Use Policy and additional Library policies available at the circulation desk.
