Remote Access to Online Databases Print

Can't connect off campus? Try these tips...

Things to check if you cannot log in:

•Are you a currently enrolled Jefferson College student?
•Double check that you are entering your student ID number correctly followed by the letters “JC”.
•Try connecting to a different database. The problem might be an issue with the database company.
•Is there a pop-up blocker on the computer? Turn it off. Sometimes this will cause problems.
•Clear both cookies and saved passwords in your browser. (go to Tools—Internet Options)
•Are you trying to connect through a workplace computer? If so, there may be a firewall or server preventing access.
•If you are using AOL or another ISP provider’s custom browser, try a non-branded browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Netscape.
•If you are trying to access Opposing Viewpoints or CINAHL, check to see if the error message refers to the number of users accessing the database. If so, try again later.

If you are a Missouri Baptist or UMSL student, you will have to use the databases on their website, but you can use our databases in the Library.
