About the Jefferson College Community Band
Jefferson College has always had a program dedicated to the instrumental music major or college students who wish to participate in the band.  The band in it’s early going was scheduled during the school day meeting twice per week, averaging 20-35 musicians per semester. Today, the band meets on Monday evenings from 7-9:15 p.m., averaging 60-75 musicians each semester.  The band draws dedicated college students and community members.

The current conductor, Randy Hodge, began teaching at Jefferson College in the fall of 2008, after 27 years of successful public school teaching. Randy brings a wide range of expertise and experiences to the podium, mixing the old with the new in musical selections for the enjoyment of all. Through his network of conductors, composers and soloists, he also invites guest artists to the stage to share their talents.
