New Student Academic Advising
After being admitted to Jefferson College, an academic advisor will assist students to register for classes during a one-on-one appointment. Students are encouraged to make an advising appointment by calling (636) 481-3209 or 636-797-3000, ext 3209

To prepare for your first advising appointment, contact the Advising & Retention Center about attending a Steps for Success workshop!

For additional information, check out the on-line catalog, course schedule and degree plans for degree options and course descriptions.

Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to discuss their interests and aspirations.  The quality of the advising session is determined by the preparation of the advisor and the student.

Check out the suggestions below to enhance the quality of the advising session:

• Review the degree planning sheet for your major, certificate or your interest area for course requirements.
• Use the college catalog to review course content including pre-requisites.
• Click on the Class Schedule tab above and then locate the type or location of the class for the appropriate term.  Rest the cursor on the CRN number for the specific course to review the current enrollment for that course.

When meeting with your advisor, be prepared to discuss:

• The progress you are making toward the achievement of your goals.
• Any concerns you may have in achieving your goals.
• Your successes! Advisors like to hear about your grades, awards, club activities and any other of your extra curricular activities
