 Options

Jefferson College students choose from four degree options.  The Associate of Arts degree transfers to another college or university as part of a bachelor's degree. The Associate of Arts in Teaching degree is a transfer degree designed for education majors. The Associate of Science degree is designed for engineering students transferring to the University of Missouri- Rolla. Associate of Applied Science degrees prepare students for an immediate career in a high-tech field.  In addition, students enrolled in the Honors program have the opportunity to interact with other highly motivated students through special courses that emphasize active student learning.

For students planning to transfer, Jefferson College is the gateway to numerous four-year colleges and universities. Schools within the St. Louis area are: Fontbonne College, Lindenwood University, Logan College of Chiropractic, Maryville University, Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, St. Louis University, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washington University, and Webster University. Some schools in Missouri and Illinois are: Central Missouri State University, Concordia University, Eastern Illinois University, Elmhurst College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Loyola University Chicago, McKendree College, Northern Illinois University, Northwest Missouri State University, Northwestern University, Quincy University, Rush University, and Southeast Missouri State University. 

 Student Support

Jefferson College offers a comprehensive array of support services that include tutoring, academic advising, career counseling, campus writing and math labs, and disability support services.  Through developmental courses, students can improve skills in math, English, language, reading, and study skills.  Four levels of English as a Second Language coursework are available for students scoring below 173 on the TOEFL.

Student Life

Students at Jefferson College participate in a wide variety of educational, social, personal, cultural, and civic activities.  There are fifteen academic, honor, student government, performance, and professional student organizations on campus. Involvement in these organizations provides an opportunity to make new friends, develop leadership skills, improve communication and develop interpersonal skills.

On-Campus Housing

Each apartment at Viking Woods is furnished and includes private bedrooms and a fully furnished kitchen with a stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Each bedroom has its own telephone, cable, and Internet connection. Other amenities at Viking Woods include a clubhouse with a big screen TV, planned activities and events, a study room with computer connections, a sand volleyball court, laundry facilities, and a BBQ picnic pavilion.

Athletics

Jefferson College's teams are some of the best in the National Junior College Athletic Association.  Men’s sports include baseball and soccer.  Women’s sports include volleyball, basketball, and softball. An indoor pool, track, and fitness equipment are available for all students.
