How to Apply (Required Documents for I-20) | Print |


Before an admissions decision will be made and an I-20 issued, you must complete the following: 

1. International Student Application 
    (regular College application is not acceptable)

 2. Submit Signature Page and $25.00 application fee

3. Evidence of English proficiency through one of the following (scores must be within the past two years):

       •Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores: www.TOEFL.COM
        475 (paper-based), 152 (computer-based), or 52 (Internet-based)
       •Completed ELS level of 109
       •A band score of 6 on the International English Language Testing System(IELTS)
       •A minimum ACT English score of 18
       •A diploma from a secondary institution in an English speaking country 
        (United States, Canada, England, Republic of Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand)
        with a minimum of two years of successful full-time study with English as the
        medium of instruction.
       •Score COMPASS ESL - Level 3.

 4. Transcripts translated into English

 5. International Student Financial Support Form

 6. Finances Documentation (Must have one of the following to demonstrate ability to pay):
        •Current Bank Statements or Letter from Banking Institution
        •Letter of Intent from Jefferson College's Athletic Director

7. Proof of medical insurance. (If you cannot provide proof within one week of arrival on campus, you must purchase insurance through the College.)

8. If you are a transfer student, complete the supplemental transfer form, and submit academic transcripts from the institution(s) you previously attended.
