Foundation ScholarshipsAmerenUE Scholarship

Established by AmerenUE, Jefferson County region in 1995. This scholarship is available to any Jefferson College student.

Big River #5331 Ladies Auxiliary
Scholarship available annually from an endowment established by the Big River VFW #5331 Ladies Auxiliary. The purpose of this scholarship is to help those "second tier" students who do not qualify for other scholarships based on financial need or scholastic superiority.   The applicant(s) should be a graduating senior, past graduate, student, or GED recipient from the Grandview, Hillsboro, or Northwest High School Districts.  Students utilizing the A+ Schools program scholarship are not eligible for this award.

Carita Singers Scholarship 
Established by the Carita Singers, a non-profit contemporary Christian music choir.  Available to Jefferson County residents who actively participate in their church choir.  Recipient must be a full-time student enrolled in vocal music course(s).

Application: Jefferson College Scholarship Application and a letter of recommendation from applicant's church choir director

Donald D. Fitzgerald Scholarship
Student must be full-time with minimum 2.5 or better GPA. Two recipients will be chosen each year, and each student must be seeking a degree in Elementary Education.

Value: $2000 per academic year
 
Graham E. Castle Memorial
Scholarship fund established by the family and friends of the late Graham E. Castle.  Recipients must be a sophomore engineering student that demonstrates academic promise by having a 3.0 GPA or better.  Preference given to students who have completed International Relations or the United Nations course, or are currently enrolled in the United Nations course.

Elizabeth Hoyt Clark Memorial Honors Scholarship
Scholarship endowment fund created in 1994 by family and friends in memory of Elizabeth Hoyt Clark.  Recipients must be enrolled in the Honors Program of Jefferson College.

Francis E. "Duke" Cortor, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship fund established in 1998 by family in memory of Francis E. "Duke" Cortor, Jr.  Preference will be given to a second year student planning to transfer to Missouri Baptist College.  Additionally, preference is given to a student who is a veteran or a descendent of a veteran.  Recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Jack Cronin Memorial Baseball Scholarship
Scholarship fund established in 1998 by family and friends in memory of Jack Cronin, who was the manager of the American Legion Rock Memorial Post 283 baseball program for twenty years.  Recipient must be a baseball player from the American Legion Post 283 baseball team.

Jefferson County Homeless Youth Grant
Scholarship is restricted to Jefferson County Youth only. Certificate programs preferred; other programs must be approved by Homeless Youth Scholarship Committee. Student must have minimum 2.5 GPA. The number of awards vary per academic year.

Mary Daniels Memorial Scholarship
Available to female athletes having graduated from a Jefferson County school district enrolled full-time and meet NJCAA eligibility requirements.

Emerging Scholars Program - George H. Podorski Memorial Scholarship Fund
Scholarship available annually from a memorial fund established by Jefferson College Faculty & Staff in memory of the late George P. Podorski.  The applicants must be students who have completed one or more learning center courses and subsequently complete 12 semester hours at Jefferson College with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

HAZMAT First Responders and Heroes of Jefferson County Chlorine Spill of 2002
Established to honor the HAZMAT first responders at the site of the Jefferson County Chlorine Spill of 2002 who were Dick Tufts, Mike Seigel, Judy Tufts, and Terry Richey. Available to high school graduates enrolled full-time majoring in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, EMT, or Paramedic.

Donald Herrell Baseball Scholarship
Scholarship established by Mrs. Frances Herrell in honor of her late husband Donald Herrell.  Recipient must be a member of the Jefferson College Viking Baseball Team.  Applicant must be a high school graduate and resident of Jefferson College.

Heuby Moore Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship has been established in memory of music educator Heuby Moore.  Recipients must have a demonstrated interest in music and plan to participate in musical activities at Jefferson College.  Applicants should be a gradating senior from Festus, Crystal or St. Pius X High Schools; St. Pius students must reside in the Festus or Crystal City school district.

Renewal: This scholarship may be renewed for a second year as directed by the Heuby Moore Scholarship selection committee.

Selected by Police Training Academy Faculty.

Jefferson College Vet-Tech First Year Scholarship
Available to incoming first year students who scored highest on the Vet-Tech admissions process and enrolled in Vet-Tech programs at Jefferson College.

Jefferson College Vet-Tech Second Year Scholarship
Available to returning second year students enrolled in the Vet-Tech program at Jefferson College.

Jefferson County Democratic Club Endowed Scholarship
Available to Jefferson County residents having a high school diploma or GED enrolled full-time and demonstrating a financial need.

Jefferson County Sheriff Department
This scholarship is provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department to a students studying in the field of criminal justice.  One recipient shall be pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and the other shall be a student in the Police Training Institute.

JHS Minority Nursing Scholarship
Recipient must be a minority Jeffer
son County high school graduate enrolled full-time in the Jefferson College Registered Nurse Program.

Joseph Becker Memorial Scholarship
First preference given to Eagle Bank and Trust employees who are high school graduates enrolled full-time or part-time with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Open to others if not awarded to Eagle Bank Employee.

Joseph C. Kamp Memorial Scholarship
Restricted to De Soto School District.

JPM Music Scholarship
Recipient must be an instrumental music major and not on full-tuition scholarship (including A+ Schools Program). This scholarship is restricted to students with financial need.

Renewal: Renewable for a second semester with a minimum 2.5 GPA and approval of Music Faculty.

The Irvin Samuel Dewoskin Memorial Scholarship Program
Traditional-Aged Student Option: Recipient must have an overall class rank in the 50% of their graduating class. The recipient must also domonstrate financial need.
 

Renewal: Recipient must maintain a 2.5 gpa to be eligible for renewal in the second year.

Library Essay Contest Scholarship Funded by the Book Sale/Jefferson College Foundation Library Fund
Scholarship available to a second year student at Jefferson College. Student must be a resident of Jefferson County and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Application: 500 word essay required (application available in the Library) describing how using the Library at Jefferson College contributed to the applicant's success as a student. No use of secondary sources permitted. Students are to submit a completed application with entry. Essays must be submitted to the Library by March 1st. One finalist will be selected to receive the scholarship.

Skyler McDonald Scholarship Fund
Available to Jefferson County high school graduates and GED students enrolled full-time and part-time.

J. Glennon McKenna and Bill McKenna Scholarship
Established by Board of Trustees and Foundation Board to honor Bill McKenna. Available to students who demonstrate a financial need.

Missouri Community College Assn. - Jefferson College Local Chapter Scholarship

Scholarship available annually from the Jefferson College Local Chapter of the Missouri Community College Association.  Applicant must be a returning student who has earned at least 30 credit hours and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Applicant must also demonstrate financial need.

Renewal: Non-Renewable

Non-Traditional Student Option:

Recipient must be 30 years of age and employed at least part-time. Student must also demonstrate financial need. Preference shall be given to the employees and children of Orthoband and Barnhart Industries.

 

Renewal: This scholarship will be renewable for up to four years. Recipient must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average to be eligible for renewal in years two through four.

 

William J. Overstreet Sr. Scholarship

Established in honor of William Overstreet. Recipient must be a African-American student enrolled full-time or part-time and have earned a GED or diploma from a Jefferson County School. Must also have a financial need, a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrated community Service.

P.E.O Chapter FR Scholarship
Established in the 2007-2008 award year, the P.E.O Chapter FR scholarship is available to a female high school graduate of the Crystal City, Festus, or Herculaneum school districts.  One scholarship is awarded annually. Recipient must graduate in top 15% of her high school class.

Production Castings Inc. Scholarship
One scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in the Machine Tool Technology field of study.  Scholarship is restricted to students with unmet financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Richard Bell Vocal Music Scholarship
Created in honor of Richard Bell by the Starlight Chorus in 1995.  Recipient must be a high school graduate majoring in vocal music who has a 3.0 GPA.

Spirit of St. Louis Barbershop Chorus Scholarship
Scholarship established in 1999 by the Spirit of St. Louis Barbershop Chorus.  Recipient must be a male vocal music major.

St. Louis Carpenter's District Scholarship
Two scholarships are awarded annually to students enrolled in a Building Trades/Apprenticeship program and plan to pursue a career in carpentry upon graduation.

Dr. William R. Todd Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Dr. William R. Todd, Associate Professor of Business Administration and Economics and a 1975 graduate of Jefferson College.  A popular and respected teacher at Jefferson who died in 1992, his family and friends established an endowment for scholarships in the hope of helping students that "Bill would have helped had he been here."  Recipient must be a permanent resident of Jefferson County who is graduating from high school and has demonstrated academic promise.  Applicants should be active in church and community activities, and should plan to study in the arts and sciences.  Preference given to relatives of Dr. Todd.

Twin City Optimist Club Scholarship
Recipient must be a graduating senior from one the following Area high schools:  Crystal City, DeSoto, Festus, Herculaneum, St. Pius, or Twin City Christian Academy.

Wal-Mart Stores of Jefferson County Scholarships
Established with donations received from Arnold, Festus, and DeSoto Wal-Marts. Recipient must be a high school graduate living in Jefferson County with a 2.5 GPA seeking a degree in business management or business administration.

The West Family Book Scholarship
Scholarship available annually from a endowment established to help student's with book expenses.  Recipient must be a Jefferson College student and is a resident of Jefferson County Recipient must also be a parent who is responsible for a minor child, either through custody or child support.  They must also demonstrate financial need.  The recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
