Applied Mathematics | Print |


Applied Mathematics is a course designed especially for students who learn best in a job related setting.  Students learn math skills as they apply in the work place, particularly in the areas of health occupations, home economics, and industrial technology.

Through videos, study of mathematical principles, and hands-on laboratory activities, students sharpen their skills in problem-solving, measurement, calculations, and interpretation of results.
 
*All students in the following courses are required to take this two semester Applied Mathematics course.

Work Experience and Special Recognition:

Vince Range has been a mathematics professor at Jefferson College for 10 years working at the Area Technical School Building.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Harris-Stowe State University and a Master's Degree in Teaching Mathematics from Webster University.  He was selected as a member of Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 2006.  Mr. Range has served on several committees at Jefferson College.  He is also a member of the two national mathematics organizations and has been a published reviewer of mathematics books for Pearson Education.
