Jefferson College is seeking a highly-qualified and motivated full-time, fieldwork coordinator /faculty member for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. This individual must be student-centered and committed to innovative teaching, academic advising, institutional service, and community service. The candidate selected will demonstrate dedication to the development of future leaders in occupational therapy and promote effective learning processes for students in the program and associated fieldwork education. The Program is accredited by the Accreditation Counsel for Occupational Therapy Education. This is an 11¼-month faculty position.

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) Job Summary: The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator will plan fieldwork experiences that will prepare competent practitioners for both traditional and emerging practice settings. Develop fieldwork course objectives, course materials, and educational experiences for optimal learning for students. Evaluate students' learning outcomes for fieldwork to meet the objectives of the program and the organization. Develop and implement a plan that effectively evaluates fieldwork educators and fieldwork sites to meet the objectives of the program and the organization. Prepare, develop, and/or coordinate contracts and associated issues for fieldwork establishment and maintenance. Design and implement a system of fieldwork assignment for students and fieldwork educators. Maintain accurate documentation of student performance, collaboration with fieldwork settings and supervisors. In addition, the Fieldwork Coordinator will also function in the role of OTA instructor who will facilitate meaningful learning of the curriculum that supports all facets of the learning environment. The AFWC will be expected to sit on OTA program committees, participate in program development as necessary, and encourage a culture of learning, mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics as well as personal and professional development.

Qualifications: Must possess a current license to practice occupational therapy (OT) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA) in Missouri (or current license with eligibility for Missouri license). Must hold a baccalaureate degree by an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an OT or OTA in a clinical setting is required. One year of teaching in an accredited occupational therapy program is preferred. Must demonstrate content expertise in a variety of clinical settings; kinesiology and biomechanics, physical disabilities, and pediatrics expertise preferred. Position requires travel to clinical sites, college campuses, seminars and conferences.

Project a positive image of the program both internally (within the college or university) and externally (within the community)
Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines
Effectively mentor and advise students in relation to fieldwork education issues
Demonstrate positive interactions with diverse faculty, students, fieldwork educators, and practitioners
