Make the world your oyster!

Did you know that Jefferson College enjoys a solid regional and statewide reputation as a leader in global education and international curriculum?

The Global Studies program at Jefferson College encourages students to focus on global type courses as they fulfill their general education requirements for the Associate’s degree. Transfer institutions welcome students with global and international knowledge and in the 21st Century business environment, those with a general knowledge of international issues and the basics of second language experience far more success than those who don’t.

The GSP consists of 16 credit hours of which 7 are required courses:
Any college level language; world geography and the Seminar in Global Studies which is offered every semester.
The other 9 credit hours consist of electives chosen from a list of internationalized courses on campus.

Graduates of the GSP receive a framed certificate plus a notation on their transcript.

The GSP also supports student study abroad opportunities and hopes to award stipends for participants plus study abroad monies within the next few years.
