2001 Alumnus of the Year - Todd Oetting

Oetting graduated from Jefferson College in 1989 with an A.A.S. in Pre-Engineering. After leaving Jefferson College, he continued his education at the University of Missouri at Rolla where he graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating, Oetting went to work for the Ethyl Corporation in their corporate engineering group located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Since that time, he has also attended Washington University in St. Louis where he completed his MBA in 1998.

Todd OettingOetting is currently employed at the Ethyl Corporation's Sauget, Illinois manufacturing facility. He has served Ethyl in many roles in his career including design engineer, maintenance engineer, and project manager. In these roles he has worked in several states and Canada. Oetting is currently serving as the facility Manager of Maintenance and purchasing where he oversees a group that includes engineers, construction personnel, maintenance craftsmen, and procurement specialists. He is active in several professional societies, serves as chairman of the board of directors for the Metro East Chapter of the Council of Owners and Construction Associates, and, is a registered professional engineer in the states of Missouri and Illinois. In the community, Oetting is active with high school students as a mentor for the state and national JETS competitions which is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the engineering field. He has served as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer in his local church.
