Jefferson College women’s basketball head coach Steve Jarvis has resigned from his position to pursue other opportunities and balance his life after four years as the Vikings head coach, Director of Athletics Greg McVey has announced.
Jarvis’ resignation is effective immediately. A comprehensive search will now begin to replace him.
“I appreciate the effort that Coach Jarvis has put into leading the women's basketball program over the past four seasons,” said McVey. “I wish Steve and his family all the best as they transition to a new period in their lives.”
Jarvis was the tenth Coach to lead the Basketball Program at Jefferson College. In his four seasons, the Vikings had a record of 44-76. His teams also participated in a variety of community betterment activities such as the Hillsboro Food Pantry, the Jefferson College Foundation Monster Dash 5K Walk/Run, and the It’s On Us campaign. Previous to Jefferson College, he coached at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, Parks College, and Maryville University.
Jarvis has also been involved in youth basketball in the area as the Director of the St. Louis Force Basketball Club.
