Jefferson vs Crowder College (10-6-13)

On a blustery day in Neosho, the Jefferson College Vikings prvailed against the Crowder College Roughriders 2-0 for a third consecutive shutout victory.  Brian Jurado opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a long range blast over the keeper's head into the upper right hand corner.  The Vikings played their usual ball control possession game for most of the half but were unable to penetrate their opponent's goal for another score.

The Vikings continued to press as the second half started, and they were rewarded after 22 minutes.  Nijaz Muratovic made a mazy run starting from the left side, cut across to the middle of the field and fired a shot into the lower left hand corner of the net.  Once again, the defense played extremely well with Robert Jones and Eric Beltran splitting time in goal and defenders Jair Hernandez, Dwight Degazon, Cameron Laywood, and Andrew Carlile solidifying the last line of defense.  Midfielders, including Carlos Zapata Paz, Kanrwea Blamo, Nijaz Muratovic, and Brian Jurado supported the defense and contributed to the offensive production.  The Vikings improved their record to 10-6.  They return home to take on Kansas City area teams next week as Blue River visits on Tuesday and Maple Woods on Thursday.
