Jefferson vs St. Charles (9-10-13)

The Jefferson College Vikings traveled to St. Charles for a sweltering afternoon match but came away on the losing end of a 3-1 score.  Nijaz Muratovic opened the scoring for the Vikings after 13 minutes of the first half when he made a slashing run down the right side of the field and slotted home a shot past the St. Charles keeper.  The Vikings controlled the ball for a short time after, but defensive lapses allowed St. Charles to tally twice before the end of the half.

During the second half, the Vikings fought gamely but were unable to establish a consistent rhythm to their game.  A third goal by St. Charles put the game out of reach although the Vikings struggled valiantly to score.  The loss drops the Viking's record to 4-2.  The next match is Saturday, September 12, at home against a strong Lincoln Land team.
