Vikings Win 1-0 Match vs. Georgia Perimeter (10-1-12)

The Jefferson College Vikings came away with a hard fought 1-0 win September 30th against a determined Georgia Perimeter Jaguar team.  After a fine assist from Sanel Hasanovic, Lance Kohler struck a hard shot into the opponents net eight minutes into the game, and the Vikings made that strike hold up the rest of the match.

Zeke Sevcik and Josh Richter split the time in the nets, and each made several good saves to secure the shutout. The defense of Josh Ward, Diego Guzman, Fred Verna, and Dwight Degazon shut down the Jaguar's forwards. Connor Kincaed, Rylan Smelcer, and Danny Arrazola won balls in midfield and created the attacks. Fowards Oscar Ortiz, Pete Grindel, Robbie Adams, and Brian Jurado pressured the Jaguar defense and created several good goal-scoring opportunities.

After splitting the pair of games in Georgia, the Vikings record now stands at 6-4-1.  Next week the Vikings travel to Kansas City on October 3rd for a 2:00pm, Region XVI match against MCC-Maple Woods.
