Vikings Move to 3-3-1 With Loss To Lincoln (9-20-12)

On a rain-soaked field on a Monday afternoon, the Vikings weren't able to convert their chances against Lincoln College and lost 2 - 0. The Vikings record now stands at 3 - 3 - 1.

Lincoln scored after 10 minutes in the first half on a hard shot from 30 yards out that didn't give keeper Josh Richter a chance to save. The Vikings battled hard, and the forwards Pete Grindel, Robbie Adams, Oscar Ortiz, and Senal Hasanovic created chances to score, but the ball would not find the back of the net on this day.

Nine minutes into the second half, Lincoln scrambled in a second goal. But with four and one-half minutes left in the game Lincoln was called for a hand ball in their penalty area, giving hope to the home team.  But the ensuing penalty kick sailed high over the net.

The Vikings hope to regroup when St. Charles visits Hillsboro on Wednesday September 19th.
