#1 Region Seed Clinched With East Central Win (10-11-12) Print

Jefferson College earned a convincing 2-0 victory over East Central on the Falcons home field on Wednesday, October 10th.  Pete Grindel opened the scoring fourteen minutes into the match when he forced in a shot from close range after Lance Kohler fed the ball into his feet. With four and one-half minutes left in the first half, Lance then provided the cushion for the victory by blasting in a shot off a Falcon defender.

The Vikings played well in the second half with Lance, Danny Arrozola, and Oscar Ortiz controlling the ball and creating scoring chances. Keeper Josh Richter and the defenders stifled a number of scoring chances to preserve the shutout victory.

With three games remaining before the regional playoffs, the Viking have now clinched first place in the MCCAC conference and top seed for the regional playoffs.  The Vikings record is now 9-4-1 with a home game Friday October 12 against Lewis & Clark College and MCC-Blue Springs on the road on Sunday October 14 and at home on Monday October 15 against Wentworth Military for the final regular season game of the season.
