San Jac Shutout, Vikings Net 3 Goals (9-6-12) Print
The Vikings played their best game of the year in overcoming perennial national power San Jacinto.  On a hot afternoon lengthened by a mix up in game starting times, the Vikings scored late in the first half when Lance Kohler found Pete Grindel with a perfectly placed through ball, and Pete outran the defense to score past  the keeper.  Playing as a central defender Jefferson’s Sanel Hasanovic anchored a strong defense that also included captain Josh Ward, Diego Guzman, Connor Kinkead, Alen Palislamovic, and Fred Verna. The defense continuously pressured a talented San Jacinto team and sacrificed their bodies to block numerous shots on goal. Daniel Arrazola once again masterfully commanded the midfield distributing passes with near perfect precision.
The  Vikings began to pull away when Pete Grindel raced down the wing and swung a perfect pass to Robbie Adams who one-touched the ball before chipping the keeper for the second goal.  With about ten minutes remaining in the game, Connor Kinkead sent a through ball to Robbie Adams who then scored with his second favorite foot for a final score of 3 - 0.
