The Office of Student Athlete Success provides a comprehensive academic support program for our student-athlete population leading to academic and athletic enrichment. The program emphasizes the three main areas of academic athletic advising, mentoring, and goal setting.

On July 1st, 2010, the Office of Student Athlete Success will be moved from under the supervision of the Advising and Retention Center (ARC) and join the Jefferson College Athletic Department.  The Office of Student Athlete Success will still be located in the Advising & Retention Center area located in the Student Center. 

 

 

 

Student Athlete Success Awards 2010

Jim Gilkerson (Baseball) recently received the Top Male Student-Athlete Award as did Gabrielle Schmitz (Volleyball) on the female side for their work in the classroom.  Ryan Wheat (Baseball) was nominated as the top choice for the "Never Give Up Award."  Congratulations to all the winners and your oustanding academic/athletic achievements over the last two years!

Millie Crenshaw, the Women's Basketball Team Manager for the last three seasons was given a special award called, the "Promise Award."  This award was given to Millie for all her hard work and comittment to completing her degree.  Congratulations Millie for sticking with your promise!

Colin Pugh was recently named an Honorable Mention recipient of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators Scholar Athlete Award.  A student-athlete can only be nominated for the award if they have at least a 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale with a minimum of 45 credit hours.  The student must also have been named honorable mention All-Conference or All-Region in their sport and have competed in at least one season. 

Colin finished his two-year career at Jefferson as All-Conference and All-Region 16 in Men’s Soccer. 
He was also an Academic All-Region performer in 2009 and 2010 along with being nominated for Academic All-American.  He finished on the Dean’s List each semester he was enrolled.  Colin will be heading to East Tennessee State University to continue playing soccer and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
