Study Hall Program Print

The Office of has instituted the Objective Based Study Hall Program, which is a learning tool you’ll find at many Division I institutions across the country. Through weekly individual appointments with our student-athlete population, we can set objectives and gStudent Athlete Success Study Halloals to accomplish coursework and build the necessary time management and organizational skills to empower student success.

In this way, study hall is used more as a tool for accomplishing those weekly objectives rather than punishment for remedial test scores and GPA’s. Another facet of the objective based system, are the incentives it carries for meeting weekly objectives. These incentives could be something like reduced study hall hours or increased supplemental instruction.  Students will have an opportunity to work in a classroom study environment featuring over 50 workstations along with smartboard technology for our peer and professional tutoring staff.  Our facility housing the evening study hall can hold an upwards of 70 individuals.

Individual appointments typically last between ten to twenty minutes and are not just objective focused, but act as the student-athlete’s opportunity to address other personal and academic issues. Another key ingredient to overall student-athlete success is through our campus partnerships with the learning resources available. Students are encouraged to use the Math and Writing Labs as well as the Peer Tutoring Program offered through the campus Assessment Center to provide tutorial services in a wide variety of academic areas.
