What are “Automation and Electrical Control Systems”?
Many local businesses and industries strive to keep a competitive advantage by finding the most efficient and cost effective ways to manufacture their products. In order to achieve these goals they must utilize technologies that incorporate advanced use of electronics, robotics, and computers. The incorporation of all of these technologies into industry is known as “Industrial Automation”. The increase of automation in local industry has led to a need for workers who have the specific training and education in a wide variety of electrical control systems and automation.
Students enrolled in the Automation and Electrical Control Systems program will gain first-hand experience with these technologies. The program will introduce new students to the basic concepts of electricity and progress to an understanding of automation programming and industrial robotics control. After completing the program, students will be ready to apply these skills into the workplace in a variety of potential jobs, such as:
- Industrial Electricians
- Service and Maintenance Technicians
- Industrial Robotic Technicians
- Industrial Technicians
