What are “Automation and Electrical Control Systems”?
Graduates of this program are expected to find employment as electrical technicians, i.e., technicians who install, troubleshoot, repair, service, and maintain electrical control systems in manufacturing and service facilities. Technicians who are employed by equipment manufacturers assist in the design, manufacturing, and testing of the electrical control systems of automated machines.
Students enrolled in the Automation and Electrical Control Systems program will gain first-hand experience with these technologies. The program will introduce new students to the basic concepts of electricity and progress to an understanding of automation programming and industrial robotics control. After completing the program, students will be ready to apply these skills into the workplace in a variety of potential jobs, such as:
- Industrial Electricians
- Service and Maintenance Technicians
- Industrial Robotic Technicians
- Industrial Technicians
