Adult Education & Literacy is the key to your future and a better life!  It's never too late, enroll at any time at no cost! (Funds are provided by the Federal Adult Education & Literacy Act)  

Note: On January 1, 2014, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) replaced the GED exam with the new HiSET exam as a measure to award High School Equivalency (HSE). The new HiSET exam is computer-based and is available at Jefferson College Hillsboro and Jefferson College Arnold.

Important information regarding AEL for students 17- and 18 years of age:

All students who are 17 or 18 years old at the time of enrollment in Jefferson College’s Adult Education and Literacy program are required to provide an official drop out letter from the student’s home high school. This letter must be turned in at Orientation. Students will not be allowed to test and begin instruction until this letter is on file with Jefferson College’s AEL program.

If the 17 or 18 year old student has been home schooled, then a letter giving parental permission to enroll in Jefferson College’s AEL program is required at the time of enrollment. Students will not be allow to test and begin instruction until this letter is on file with Jefferson College’s AEL program.
